Coldplay In India: Arjun Kapoor And Parineeti Chopra Kickstart Concert
Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra introduced the goals of Global Citizen, the charity which has brought Coldplay and Jay-Z to India
The event of the year has officially began at the MMRDA grounds in Mumbai with Bollywood stars Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra taking to the stage at the Global Citizen India concert.
The crowds had started gathering at 1 for the five-hour long event which will be headlined by British super band Coldplay and rap megastar Jay-Z.
Just a few minutes ago, Parineeti and Arjun walked on stage to introduce the goals of Global Citizen India and the areas they will work in including health, education and gender equality.
The day-long party of sorts is supposed to kick off with Arijit Singh, followed by a retinue of performances and promises by stars and leaders to pledge their commitment to the cause.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to send a message through video conference.
Ranveer Singh might be the burst of Bollywood the audience needs as he gets on his feet to do his dagger-swagger dance, while Sonakshi Sinha has a surprise in store. The actress will show off her singing skills.
Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy will make lush and layered music on stage with the multi-genre, Dadar-based choir `The Salvation Singers', conducted by Dylan D'Souza.
Amitabh Bachchan will join the Shillong Chamber Choir for a stellar symphony of poetry and patriotism. While Aamir Khan, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor are among the several Bollywood biggies performing in support of the "Shuruaat Hoon Main" message.
